NetRadiant can create patch meshes up to 31x31, FYI.

Imho you could achieve the highest visual quality by using patches. If the physics arent nice, use those brushes. The shaderscript is correct, you must rename nem_dust_l t .tga to nem_dust_l f .tga Its not following same name pattern as for the right side.. I first though something is wrong with the tga, but I couldnt find anything special, so I made a small testmap, and it did not appear either (well in ET).. ...

It does check quite a few things, maybe you can get some ideas from it...
I certainly could use such a tool myself, its a pita to set that script up .. and I use windows.. lol.

Since that file is gone there, here a backup:
