Re: My heart just skipped a beat
Sorry RaideR, you blew that one yourself. CMM has contacted FS a long time ago and strictly enforced the same rules regarding modding UrT/talking about Frozen Sand as in your very own forums. Except for the UJ/CMM jump mapping competition CMM never got any exposure or replies from you guys. All we r...

Re: My heart just skipped a beat
Lolol, all my posts have been deleted from the thread. Aye, as FS obviously doesn't want a mapping community I'm out of here - don't see any point in providing help for something that isn't wanted anyway. I won't go around deleting shit, way too lazy for that. Italy is cancelled, might reappear in s...

Re: My heart just skipped a beat
This is a massive slap in the face for every serious mapper out there. I'm sincerely disappointed and for the first time angry at Frozen Sand. I've always been very tolerant about their decisions, as a game dev I know what drives the team to them. It is extremely hard to offend me, but you have mana...

Re: what kind of a game would you make
Aye, if you really wanna know. In general I strongly dislike DirectX (as any Linux user), but if the other features of the engine are perfect for your game, go for it. id Tech 2 itself is an extremely old engine - something I can't suggest hopping on either. Unless it has been modified heavily you'l...

Re: what kind of a game would you make
Depends on the game.
My personal opinion doesn't matter.

Re: what kind of a game would you make
Depends on the game. I like to use Slick 2D for (obviously) 2D games - easy to use and won't get in your way, physics library binding exists, various GUI systems can be integrated. You can pretty much use anything for 2D games since you have a lot less to worry about and performance isn't a huge pro...

Re: what kind of a game would you make
I'll just dump some thoughts about making games in here~ This is mostly a collection of things I've picked up or learned myself in the past 2 or 3 years while working on various games. This isn't supposed to discourage anyone, it's just a collection of negative things and stuff to watch out for. It ...

Re: Teamspeak
Teamspeak is free as in free beer, not as in freedom (unlike Mumble). Quality is equally good.
Turn off the Mumble overlay if you have FPS drops.
