Re: Mapping for UrT HD
Sorry to revive this "old" thread but what about maps already made in Radiant? I have been working on one map for nearly two years and another for a few months now and I thought to build and optimize these maps for HD. All of the textures are normal (and some bump) mapped with high resolut...

Re: Blender to .ase
Yes, I know that. But Urban Terror can't read this file format.
However, thank you for the advice to use Biturn. I imported the model in Blender, exported it into .3ds and coverted it to .ase with Biturn. It works perfectly.

Re: Globalfog and skybox
It's amazing to see you guys discussing about mapping
I think I'll try first Johnny's suggestion and make the skybox darker/more grayish because it seems to be the easiest and fastest solution. I'll let you know how that looks.

Globalfog and skybox
Hey, I didn't know where to put this question, I hope it's the right section. It's an HD related question about globalfog. Look at this picture: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/700957/Urban%20Terror/cargoship/shot0672.jpg As you can see, it doesn't look good. The fog seems to stop somewhere near the brushwo...

Re: Blender to .ase
Oh, yes, it really is .ASE and not .ase. Although I made in in Windows, I'll check it in moment if that was the problem.
(Damn, mapping on a Mac is so annoying if you don't own a second Windows machine.)

Re: Blender to .ase
I tried to convert one of his models (this one: http://Nobiax.deviantart.com/art/Free-Palm-Plant-Pack-176101197 ) but it didn't work. Biturn exported an .ase-file that I could import in Radiant but the model doesn't show up. According to the entity list, it's in there but you can't see it. Am I doin...

Re: Blender to .ase
Thanks, I'll try Biturn even though it doesn't work on mac (I have to use a Windows machine to compile and will try it then). And yes, ValkoVer, these models are really good. They already are in my map because you gave me that link But I wanted to have some more variation (or try to look if they go ...

Re: Screenshots
Wow, is there any word to describe how beautiful the atmosphere, the lighting and the fog looks?
After seeing this I can't continue working on my maps because they look like crap even after putting 100x more hours of work in it that you did.

Blender to .ase
Hey, I'm working on Aztec again and wanted to put some nice palms and plants made by this guy in there. Well, the problem is that all these models are in .obj and not in .ase so that you can't import them in Radiant. Okay, let's import them in Blender I thought and it somehow worked (I still have no...

Re: My models
Me too. Sadly we have to wait a little bit to get the first playable results. And that's a good idea to stay. I was in the same situation as you last year and kept on mapping but quit playing (atm both). You are really a talented guy and I always like to see what you have to say or to show that it w...
