Hey guys,
Does anyone know if there is a way to bake animated textures into a map?
Example: Disco ball in the center of a room and having the lights spin around the walls.
I had just thought of this Idea and figured that baking the texture would allow you to add couches and furnature to the room and let the disco ball's light fall dynamically onto those surfaces.
Example 2: spot light swinging back and forth across buildings
Anyway Food for thought.

Well look at this from 17 seconds and it does something similar
Re: Baking Animated Textures
It's definitely doable, but not advisable.
In order to make this work you'd have to bake shadows and textures for every single step.
Basically you'd be animating the light in an entire room one frame at a time. The amount of textures needed would raise the pk3 size so much, it just wouldn't be worth it.
