Like I've explained on IRC by more than once, I'm starting a 3rd party maps promotion community, along with weekly events partnered by Urban Zone. So, here's how it will happen:
• I will run a server called "The 3PM Project" (it's actually online already), with a mapcycle consisting of only 3rd party maps.
• Once a week (every Friday), we will add a new map to the cycle and host a match on it. This match will be shoutcasted and streamed using Urban Zone's GTV (wider audience).
• After the match, people will be able to go on the project's website (which is being made as I'm writing this), and vote to keep the map on the cycle or not, as well as give feedback on the map, so mappers have information on it.
• As an addition we will also keep a mapping rating system based on "likes" (still an idea), which will allow us to keep a list of 3rd party maps set by popularity. Advantages of this? Mappers will be able to see which 3rd party maps are more popular and learn from them on what is played in urt, and on the other hand it'll also allow server owners to have a list of popular 3rd party maps, promoting them and hopefully getting them played more often and on more mapcycles.
If this project is well received by the community, I'm thinking about expanding it to more than one server, each running different game modes and mapcycles, as some maps are better played at some modes than others.
As Im trying to push this forward and start running it as soon as I get the website online, I will need your help with map suggestions for me to start off with. It can be maps made by yourself or others, if you remember anything good just let me know
