The initial stage of this competition will end today (6th January), the entries will be collated, sorted out and we'll organise a method for the larger urt community to vote for the entries. Not certain how long this stage will last but at the end of the process we should have a winning design.

We'll need a small team to organise the layout and build/test the map, I've created an irc channel for this purpose. If you'd like to join in the project, please join me on #cmm_contest_map (quakenet). I've obviously invited Pickles to help sort out the organisation and Markinho as a props modeller/tester/etc.

Hell yea! Stop the voting, this is the one! It'll take weeks to get the shaders finished due to differential chromatic spectral shader complexity, but I'm confident we can do it!

.. our congratulations go to The Fallin Angels Clan with their African Savannah map idea.

You now have the opportunity to work with CMM and bring your ideas to life. You/your team will be invited to join the CMM development team on our dedicated competition irc channel where you will be able to further input your ideas and maybe learn a few mapping skills along the way. We look forward to working with you and the team are all squirming in their pants ready to go.

Thank you to everyone who entered and to everyone who voted. For those who did not submit an entry on time, we hope to run another map design competition later in the year.

I would also like to thank Wily Duck who joined us recently and has done an amazing job of developing a repository to streamline the community mapping environment that we will be working in. Your efforts (and patience) have been greatly appreciated.

For those interested, Monastery has found itself a new mapper to finish it off. It is a great little map with a good layout and we hope it can now be released properly.

Yours Faithfully
The CMM Team xx
