Normal mapping for UrT

Post by Rayne »

This is the way i make my normal maps. You may not like it, you don't have to use it. I'm just putting it out there so others know how i make my textures look the way they do.

Thats nice, if you have the text of this I can add it to the wiki.

I've been thinking something like this could be used to create more urt friendly normal maps - with some effort.

Why do you write your tutorials in images? It's not common lol

Cause it's easier than to write a tutorial post in reversed order.

Don't touch red and green, they have to stay as they are. Just work with the blue channel, use red+green for the new blue channel.
Post pics of what you did if you want to.

IN the channels palette. I don't know where it is in gimp but it should be in the same place as the alpha channel.
