Joomla was used on the last site.
WordPress can be integrated in a different way.

Why do we need a portal?

Because forum is only the forum. Creating simple portal will make CMM webpage more userfriendly and attractive. Then we can implement further ideas that will came up with time.

Simple Machines Forum. Good plugins, portal easy to install, I have some very nice themes on my comp which I can upload.

Portal would be neat for news and announcements but it might also lead to people who just read the news on the portal instead of contributing to the forums. I'm torn here
